My name is Lary Rosenblatt. My company 22 MediaWorks (www.buoypoint.com) is working with Source Interlink Media (http://www.sourceinterlink.com/) to produce a bookazine entitled Fabulous Flea Market Finds. In my research, I came across The 37th Annual Wheaton All Night Flea Market. I am including information about (see unedited text below) the market. Do you have any images from the market that I might be able to use in the bookzine? I would need high resolution scans (at least 5 x 7 or larger and 300 dpi’s)? Of course you would receive credit.

I hope you will consider participating. I know that your contribution will greatly add to the value of our bookazine. Please either email me or call me if you need additional information or would like to discuss this further. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Once a year, on the third weekend in August, beneath the glow of a waxing moon, the Du Page County Fairgrounds in Wheaton, Illinois is transformed into the country’s only All Night Flea Market. Insomniac flea fans rejoice!

As many as 8,000 nocturnal treasure seekers each year armed with flashlights, and a substantial amount of caffeine, take advantage of a warm, star-filled summer night and bargain ‘til the break of dawn. Positively dreamy.

Serenaded by live music, shoppers boogie their way through hundreds of booths selling new and vintage merchandise from dealers traveling from as far away as Texas to participate. This year, however, the dealers from the lone star state won’t win the prize for traveling farthest.

That honor will go to a guest from a galaxy far, far away…Market organizers have secured the star power, of none other than, Jedi wingman, actor Peter Mayhew, also known as Chewbacca, to bring the force to Wheaton.

Chewie (sans costume) will be joined at the market by fellow, furry-faced colleague and guest, actor Dan Haggerty, best known for his role as Grizzly Adams. Jasmine Lassiter, a local, Illinois actress who recently appeared as a Munchkin in the Disney movie, Oz, the Great and Powerful has also promised to attend. Toto could not be reached for comment.

In addition, Professional zombie, Sonya Thompson, from The Walking Dead; WWF wrestler, Hacksaw Jim Duggan; paranormal author, John E.L. Tenney and actor, Mike Holman will also be among the night’s attendees.

For midnight munchies, more than twenty food stalls are on hand to curb a variety of cravings. Plan it right, and shoppers might enjoy both dinner and breakfast at the market. Coffee’s sold all night.

The all-nighter, featuring both indoor and outdoor areas, is designated as one of the Top 10 Flea Markets in the country by the Discovery Channel and National Geographic. “”It’s just a unique, fun way to spend an evening,” said Robert Zurko, event organizer and head of Zurko Promotions.

“The all night flea market is the bee’s knees,” raves one review by a satisfied local. “Bring your flashlight and your bargaining voice…[and since] most of the booths are in a field…you may want to wear some shoes you don’t mind getting dirty.”
