The American Farm Bureau celebrates Food Check-Out Week February 17-23, 2013.
In addition to helping consumers find solutions to eating healthy on a stretched budget, this Farm Bureau event also notes the importance of America’s farmers and ranchers who are committed to producing safe, abundant and healthy food.
In past years, Illinois county Farm Bureaus have joined local Ronald McDonald houses during Food Check-Out Week, to raise money for the charity. The Ronald McDonald House provides a “home away from home” for the families of seriously ill children receiving medical treatment.
In past years, the Cook County Farm Bureau teamed up with the Ronald McDonald House charities Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana to donate almost $5,000 to the charity.
