Grab the family and take a bite out of the Murphysboro Apple Festival.

This five-day celebration is the oldest and largest alcohol-free festival in Southern Illinois. More than 45,000 attendees each year come to see the car show, apple pie eating contest, apple core throwing contest, marching band competition and the Appletime 5K walk/run.

The 60th annual Apple Festival will crown a queen, prince and princess, and features a grand parade with more than 160 floats. Find a full list of festival events here.
