Pearl Carpenter founded The Farmacy Farmstand in Newark with a focus on spreading the health and happiness from her farm to others, welcoming the community to enjoy flowers, food, classes and more.
Carpenter, affectionately known as “Farmer Pearl,” grows more than 100 varieties of vegetables and herbs as well as a seasonal flower buffet where customers can visit the farm and create their own bouquets in the summer and fall. Plus, she offers weekly yoga classes in her peaceful yoga garden as well as paid and free gardening classes.
Giving back to the community continues to be at the forefront of Carpenter’s work. Every fall, she features a School Bouquet Giveaway in September, where weekly bouquets are given to nominated school employees in the Plano, Sandwich, Somonauk and Newark public school districts. To nominate someone, send a message via Facebook or Instagram, or find information on the website.
The Farmacy Farmstand opens daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. July through October. To learn more, visit thefarmacyfarmstand.com.
