Need a break from the cold weather? The Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago offers a year-round tropical oasis. Visitors can enjoy 2 acres of indoor lush flora and warm temperatures.

The conservatory encourages people to learn about the power of nature and why people should embrace and honor nature’s importance. Often referred to as “landscape art under glass,” the conservatory offers an array of free nature-based events and activities throughout the year.

Held annually for more than 25 years, the Winter Flower Show features poinsettias in various colors, silver foliage, and many other favorite winter flowers and plants. This year’s event takes place Nov. 27 through Jan. 5. Reservations are required.
