Located just west of Peoria in Hanna City, Wildlife Prairie Park is the perfect destination for a memorable family adventure this fall. Spanning scenic woodlands and prairie, the unique zoological park features a 1.5-mile walking trail where visitors can encounter more than 60 species of animals native to the Midwest, including bison, elk, black bears, bobcats, cougars and many more. While many of the animal residents were rescued and could not be released back into the wild, enclosures are designed to be as close to their native habitats as possible.
Beyond the animal trail, the park offers a range of other nature-oriented recreational activities for visitors of all ages. There are lakes for fishing and kayaking, campsites, bike trails, a disc golf course, picnic areas, and a nostalgic Prairie Zephyr Train offering scenic rides. A variety of educational programs and hands-on experiences provide even more opportunities for visitors to connect with nature.
