Formed in 1957, the Geneseo Art League welcomes all forms of art and artists who have an interest in encouraging a creative environment.
The founding group of artists came together as a support group to foster the arts in the small community of Geneseo in northwestern Illinois. The not-for-profit group currently has 30 active members who work year-round to promote the importance of the arts.
The League sponsors annual events, including the Maple City Fine Arts Show held throughout the month of May. The event draws amateur and professional artists from as far away as 100 miles to show off their impressive creations in hopes of winning one of the show’s prestigious awards.
