Chicago is proud to host the only musical tattoo of its kind in the Midwest each year. The 2011 Heartland International Tattoo Music and Dance Festival will be held May 7-8, at the Forest View Education Center Entertainment Complex in Arlington Heights.

A tattoo consists of military exercises offered as evening entertainment, and this particular one is patterned after the Edinburgh Music Tattoo in Scotland.

The tattoo will include 250 musicians and singers – both military and civilian.

Drum and bugle corps, wind bands, bagpipe bands, drill teams, brass bands, flag corps, and dancers will perform as well. The performers represent many different countries and nationalities.
