Experience a touch of Japan right here in Illinois at Anderson Japanese Gardens in Rockford. The peaceful, 12-acre grounds feature winding paths past streams, cascading waterfalls, koi-filled ponds and traditional Japanese architecture, all meant to cultivate a calming setting that inspires the mind and fosters creativity.

In addition to the outdoor elements open to explore with a general admission ticket, the gardens also have an on-site restaurant, Fresco at the Gardens, which serves breakfast and lunch daily with a focus on locally sourced, organic products. They also host special seasonal and cultural events throughout the year, as well as yoga and tai chi classes, guided serenity walks, educational workshops and more.
