I’ve been a part of the Farm Bureau family my entire life. I grew up on a dairy and hog farm, so I saw firsthand how Farm Bureau’s programs support farmers like my parents. Now, I’ve been teaching second grade for 23 years, and I’m a part of another great resource that Farm Bureau supports: Ag in the Classroom. Many of my students have never even heard of the word agriculture. Because of Ag in the Classroom, we have monthly lessons for the entire elementary school. Every year, these kids get to go to an actual farm and get a hands-on learning experience and appreciation for where their food comes from. They even get to milk a cow! In a world where most kids don’t have an agriculture background, I’m proud to be a member of an organization that does so much to support grants, books and projects that educate children.
