Children, families, educators and anyone wanting to follow footsteps and pathways of farmers can pull on their boots for a farm-focused adventure in a book entitled Farm Boots. The publication tells the story of several farm families as they work and play throughout the year, in boots for every kind of weather.
“Many of us don’t think about how our favorite footwear helps us prepare to brave the elements each day, but farmers and ranchers do,” says Daniel Meloy, executive director of the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture, in a news release. “Kids may even learn about some unexpected places farm boots could take them.”
The book comes from Feeding Minds Press, the publishing venture of the American Farm Bureau Federation, the nation’s largest organization of farmers and ranchers. Illinois Farm Bureau is a member of AFBF.
According to the AFBF release, Farm Boots depicts a wide variety of agricultural settings in all four seasons. The book celebrates footware, fun and life on and off the farm. It comes from the writer and illustrator of Right This Very Minute, Lisl H. Detlefsen and Renee Kurilla.
