If you have a favorite farmers market and believe it’s one of the best, consider casting an online ballot as part of a statewide and national competition.

The American Farmland Trust (AFT) and its Farmers Market Coalition have held the America’s Farmers Market Celebration, which includes the contest, since 2008. If you want to participate, you’ll need to vote by mid-September.

“In many regions, farmers markets have been vital to keeping existing farms in business, enabling new farms to get started, and creating jobs and opportunities in these communities,” says John Piotti, AFT president and CEO, in a news release.
