Sleepy Creek Vineyards offers quirky entertainment, a rustic venue, a friendly atmosphere and, of course, fabulous local wine. The 10-acre vineyard owned by Farm Bureau members Erik Plotner and Janette Figueroa produces more than 35,000 bottles of wine annually, drawing visitors from near and far to Vermilion County’s only vineyard, winery and tasting room.

At Sleepy Creek, you won’t find the typical wine club. Instead, you can join their Purple Finger Club, where volunteers help out around the vineyard, mainly during harvest in August and September. Perks of your volunteer work include exclusive shirts, discounts, member-only events, learning about winemaking and more – in addition to temporarily stained purple fingers.

For those looking for the ideal setting to host your special event, you can book the timber frame tasting room or the Dragonfly venue just behind the winery overlooking the vineyard.

You can even sip and stay at Sleepy Creek Vineyards in the 1,000-square-foot timber frame “bed & wine” retreat above the working winery – perfect for a weekend getaway.
