When you think about the holidays, you just can’t help but picture the vivid red of poinsettias. Want to keep yours looking beautiful all season long? University of Illinois Extension offers these tips to keep your poinsettia plants thriving until the new year:
2. Check the cyathia.

Make sure the cyathia (the green buds in the center of the flowers) remain tight and have not opened. For the longest-lasting poinsettias, select plants with little or no yellow pollen showing.
