Want to actually see and hear what’s taking place on Illinois farms to keep water clean and protect farmland? In recent months, a documentary titled “Sustaining Our Future: A Farm Family Story” premiered in Chicago and can now be found on YouTube.
The four-part series, produced by Illinois Farm Bureau, focuses on the following issues:
- Episode 1: “The Skin of the Earth” introduces you to an Illinois farm family, the origins of a statewide effort on stewardship and the challenges faced by some farmers.
- Episode 2: “Gambling to Innovate” discusses stewardship efforts on some farms throughout generations and sustainability efforts across Illinois.
- Episode 3: “Listening, Learning, Caring” features what actually takes place in some farm fields and the importance of researchers and landowners.
- Episode 4: “The Conservation Legacy Continues” details how voluntary efforts by some farmers create a legacy of sustainability for future generations.
