The Back of the Yards neighborhood in Chicago has strong ties to the food and farming sectors. Once home to stockyards that housed livestock such as beef cattle and hogs, the neighborhood also consisted of meatpackers providing steaks, roasts, bacon and hams, among many products.

Now the neighborhood hosts an urban farm that grows and sells its produce and other products through Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) subscriptions and at multiple farmers markets in the city.
